Activities Committee

COMMITTEE MISSION

Provide scheduled program opportunities at the Cub Scout and Scouts BSA-levels throughout the year in conjunction with other council-level committees. In addition to program opportunities, provide a range of organized civic service opportunities throughout the year, and across the council territory.

WHAT DOES THE Activities COMMITTEE SUPPORT?

  • Organizes annual events such as Camporees and Klondike Derbies, as well as service events and Merit Badge Opportunities.
  • Focuses on long range planning regarding collaboration with other council committees, property usage, and program design and cadence.
  • Recruits event staff volunteers and develops subcommittees to support special projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct annual surveys of key district stakeholders, unit stakeholders, and event participants to evaluate promotions, program design, and program coverage.

Submit Your Idea for a New Program or Activity

Do you have a great idea for a new program or engaging activity for Scouts? Do you want to revive a legacy district program or activity? Does your unit have an activity that you would like to share with other units? If you said “yes” to any of the previous questions, then please submit your idea or event through the Activity Support Application process.

The application is supported and managed by the Activities Committee. Monthly, the committee reviews applications for programs and events to be included in the council program calendar. Applying does not guarantee endorsement of your idea or event submission, but does initiate a conversation on the scope, volunteer needs, and budgetary requirements of taking-on your idea or concept for a new program or activity. All great programs, activities, and events start with an idea and a passionate desire to expand opportunities for Scouts – consider filing out an Activity Support Application for your idea today!
