International Committee

Committee Mission

The mission of the Northern Star Scouting International Committee is to introduce Scouts and Scouters to the world of International Scouting through events, awards, and activities. This may be accomplished by providing or promoting meaningful opportunities that enrich the Scouting experience locally, or by providing resources to connect Scouts or Scouters to events that occur abroad throughout the year.

What does the International Committee Support?

  • Promote International Scouting events at council events.
  • Promote and provide support for International-centric awards that enrich the Scouting experience for Scouts and Scouters, including the International Spirit Award and International Scouter’s Award.
  • Promote and provide support for international initiatives such as World Organization of the Scouting Movement’s Interamerican Scout Fund, World Friendship Fund, Messengers of Peace, and international camp staff programs.
  • Plan, promote and execute council-level activities that expose members to the international Scouting community.
  • Steward the council’s International Fund.
